That’s exactly why we have the pre‑session as a first step!
It’s your space to discuss ideas, get feedback, and refine your plan with Microsoft mentors. You don’t need a final concept - past teams often changed or improved their idea after this session.
The hackathon is 48 hours of creativity, collaboration, and hands‑on building with expert support and everything you need to bring your idea to life. It’s also a great chance to learn, network, and showcase your skills in Milan.

Disclaimer: If your spot is confirmed by ALSO, but your plans have changed, canceling your participation is possible until 15 May via written email. After this date, ALSO reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 250,00€ per signed up team member.
How it works
1️⃣ Sign up with your team and submit your AI idea.
Sign up your company and register 3–4 team members. Each team should include a mix of business and technical profiles — you’ll need both perspectives to succeed.
After registration, you’ll receive all the key details by email (venue, hotel info, logistics, etc.).
2️⃣ Pre-session – 04 May 2026
A 1-hour online session with Microsoft Mentors. Receive feedback, suggestions, and help refining your idea.
3️⃣ Hackathon – 28–29 May 2026
Take your improved idea and create your AI Agent in just 48 hours! Work with Microsoft and ALSO experts in our exciting Milan venue (details sent via confirmation email). Hotel stay is covered by us.
4️⃣ Post-hackathon – 12 June 2026
Join an online follow-up session to see how you monetized your AI Agent and get guidance if needed.

Pre-Session
Before the Hackathon begins, all teams will join a 1-hour online preparation session with Microsoft mentors.
During this session, you will have the opportunity to present your idea, receive early feedback and recommendations, and the chance to refine your concept. This step ensures that teams arrive at the Hackathon with a clear direction and a well-structured idea ready to develop.

During the two-day Hackathon, teams will work intensively on building a working prototype, supported by mentors from Microsoft and experts from Garage 48. The focus is on rapid experimentation, collaboration, and turning ideas into something tangible.

Networking Dinner (May 28)
In the post-event online follow-up session, teams will reconvene to share progress, discuss how they have monetized or further developed their AI Agent, and receive additional guidance from mentors if needed.
This session ensures that the ideas created during the Hackathon continue evolving into real business opportunities.
*You will receive the links to both the pre‑session and post‑session (Teams meetings) in your confirmation email after registration. The email will also include templates for the pre‑session and post‑session to help you prepare.
