Last date to renew a legacy competency. Partners that have a competency by September 30, 2022, will continue to receive legacy benefits until their next anniversary date. 

October 3, 2022: 

This new model provides two qualifying levels: Solutions Partner and Specialized/Expert, which help showcase your demonstrated ability to deliver successful customer outcomes. 

Solutions Partner will get recognized in six solution area designations:  

Specializations or Expert program is way to differentiate organizations and demonstrate deep technical expertise and experience in specific technical scenarios. 

These changes are happening to support your success. The evolved program is designed to help you expand your capabilities and create value in the market, connect with customers, and win more business. 

All specializations and the expert status will remain. Microsoft will introduce additional specializations to help partners to stand out further.

Until when can I renew my current competencies? 

As our Partner, You can renew your current competencies up until September 30, 2022 with renewals lasting one year. This includes all the benefits such as the Internal Use Licenses (IUL). 

What is the timeline? 

First anniversary date after October 3, 2022:  

Solutions Partner designations become available. If you meet the requirements, you’ll obtain a solutions partner designation and receive the new badges.

If you obtain a solutions partner designation, you can choose to update to solutions partner benefits or retain your legacy benefits (paying the corresponding fee). 

Specializations or Expert program is way to differentiate organizations and demonstrate deep technical expertise and experience in specific technical scenarios. 

These changes are happening to support your success. The evolved program is designed to help you expand your capabilities and create value in the market, connect with customers, and win more business. 

All specializations and the expert status will remain. Microsoft will introduce additional specializations to help partners to stand out further.

How can I become a Solutions or Specialized/Expert Partner?

The status of ‘Solutions Partner’ will be measured using the Partner Capability Score (PCS) with a minimum of 70/100 points. These points can be earned in three areas:

  • performance (net customer adds),
  • skilling (certifications),
  • customers success (usage and deployment)

This way, the new partner program showcases your demonstrated ability to deliver successful customer outcomes.

After achieving Solutions partner status partners may choose to specialize by pursuing a specialization or becoming an expert partner.

Introducing New Benefits: Microsoft Copilot and More

Starting January 22, 2025, Microsoft is introducing over 20 new benefits, including the innovative Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Defender for Endpoint. 

As part of this evolution, the Microsoft Action Pack, Microsoft Learning Action Pack, legacy silver benefits, and legacy gold benefits will no longer be available for purchase or renewal after January 21, 2025. But don't worry! The enhanced offerings will provide you with even more choice and value, ensuring you have access to the best-in-class products, support, and advisory services. 

Starting January 22, 2025, Microsoft is introducing over 20 new benefits, including the innovative Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Defender for Endpoint. As part of this evolution, the Microsoft Action Pack, Microsoft Learning Action Pack, legacy silver benefits, and legacy gold benefits will no longer be available for purchase or renewal after January 21, 2025. But don't worry! The enhanced offerings will provide you with even more choice and value, ensuring you have access to the best-in-class products, support, and advisory services. 

We encourage you to transition to the new benefits offerings now. By doing so, you'll not only secure the tools you need today but also be among the first to enjoy Copilot seats and other exciting benefits as they become available in January. 

You may purchase or renew your Action Pack, Learning Action Pack, or legacy silver/gold benefits through January 21, 2025. Partners with eligible active legacy Silver/Gold purchase status by this date, will be eligible for the remaining duration of the CSP incentive term (January 22, 2025-September 30, 2025). Note that no legacy benefits offerings will receive the benefits update on January 22, 2025.
